Disclaimer: I took only four pictures today, all of which are presented here. So this post is mostly text and you will have to use your imagination.
After taking showers and getting sparkly, Hannah and I left to take the subway to a brench place in Greenwich Village called The Cornelia Street Cafe. Brench is our new hip word for brunch, invented on accident the day before when Hannah misheard Brad say "brunch". We met Brad, Natalie, and...drum roll...Anna Norman! We couldn't even remember the last time we'd seen each other but it was great to catch up with her. And yet another reason to move to NY.
Our next stop, naturally, was a shop called Dō which serves scoops of raw cookie dough. However when we got there we found that the line was the length of an entire city block and would take 1.5 hours, so we opted to skip it and head for the nearby Milk Bar, which serves cereal milk flavored ice cream among other things. Predictably, it was top notch.
We then went to see an iconic building - Monica and Rachel's apartment! Well, at least the building that they used to shoot the outside of Monica and Rachel's apartment. Which actually looks nothing like the inside layout, but oh well. It was still awesome!
Tourists gotta tour.
About to freeze our faces off, we all split up and Brad and Hannah and I headed to Chelsea market on the subway. We found a bar called Flannery's and decided to go in for a drink, and the bar was almost as cool as Flannery Bethel herself!
Nothing is as cool as Flannery Bethel herself.
Brad walked us to the Chelsea market and thn left, and Hannah and I wandered around for awhile and went to a cafe for special matcha green tea lattes.
YUM.
At dinner time (Marty, Creamsicle's and my favorite time of the day), we met up with two of Hannah's friends who live in New York: Daniel, who is doing a masters program at Columbia, and Stephan, who is an opera singer. We all went to Cream Line for dinner and got mouthwatering fried chicken sandwiches.
Stephan left us, and Hannah, Daniel and I walked around looking for a bar. We found one that ended up being mostly Spanish-speaking people, that was playing Spanish music. I played one-on-one pool with a guy there, and I won! Too bad we didn't bet anything. Also I think he may have been going easy on me..
After that we met up with Brad and Natalie and a few friends at a bar called Drop Off Service in the East Village. We were later joined by the great Tanner Carlson, who I hadn't seen since high school! I also received a message from my friend Jessica Dolan, who I met in Barcelona and who had JUST flown in from Ireland, where she is from. Like a champ she came out and met us, it was loads of fun!
What a great last night in NYC!! Making me want to move there more and more. If only teleportation would be invented already.
